Equal Opposite Reaction Theatre is launching its inaugural production this June. As part of the famed RHINO FEST, Eugene O’Reilly’s, Waiting for Ringot will be performed the five Sundays in June (2, 9, 26, 23, 30) at 7:00 pm at Chicago Dramatists, 1105 West Chicago Av. $20 or pay what you can.

Inspired by a prompt from a theatre company in Liverpool Eugene takes the concepts of the legendary existential Irish/French masterpiece and reimagines them with Beatles references and characters.

The Walrus has been waiting in Nowhere Land for decades for the bringer of “Peace and Luv” and is growing impatient. His angry sister, Polythene Pam, his best mate the local constable Sgt. Pepper, and the annoyingly aggressive social beautification representative Loretta Martin are all here to witness the moment.  For the Walrus believes today is the day.

“Today is today and no longer yesterday. And I am as I was. Therefore we must assume it is not tomorrow.”
